To mix or not to mix?
Gold or Silver?
Our stunning gold jewelry is original vintage brass plated in premium 18K gold and coated in our Forever Finish, which is resistant to tarnishing with proper care, and allows for extended wear. Our gold plating is a special formula with a matte luster for a look of vintage patina, as opposed to a high-shine surface. Each piece of ExVoto is plated in the same gold plating formula so that they can be worn together, however the depth of the patina may vary slightly between chain styles.
Our Sterling Silver pieces are original sterling that shine classically. Our silver jewelry all capture a timeless quality while remaining fresh in their styles.
But the question remains… do you gravitate towards gold jewelry, silver jewelry,…. or both?
Shop the Blend
Here at Ex Voto, we recognize that, by now, you probably already have your favorite metal picked out. But, we are here to encourage you to consider blending the two together! A little silver mixed with our perfectly plated gold makes for a stunning jewelry array. We have also created a stunning necklace that features the gold and silver look called our Jenny Necklace. The Jenny naturally acts as a bridge between your desire to wear both metals well. Another option we curated to act as a bridge of metals is our 8" Gilmer Gold & Silver Bracelet. This dainty blend of vintage-inspired chains is a lovely addition to anyone looking to dip their style into the art of blending metals!
Which Metal Looks Best on Me?
Wondering if you should wear gold, silver, or blend the two? We asked our Color Analysis Expert in Rosemary Beach, Gabby Herbert, which metals looked best on which color pallets and she shared some great insight!
“Your Clear Winter and Deep Winter palettes have higher contrast with high shine. These winters can wear silver, gold, or rose gold! Clear Spring and Light Spring can pull off gold, silver, and rose gold again because of the higher contact through the palette. Your Warm Spring is ONLY gold. Light summer and soft summers can do a low contrast and low shine in silver, rose gold, and gold. Cool summer are only silver. Autumn are typically just gold, but some soft autumns can pull off a low contrast, low shine of all metals. Deep Autumns are medium to medium high contrast with a low shine!”
