This collection of necklaces, earrings, and bags was discovered by our designer, Elizabeth Adams, while visiting San Miguel de Allende, Mexico this past Fall. These pieces were created by hand as a collaboration between Elizabeth and local artisans in San Miguel de Allende.
Milagro One of a Kind Necklaces
Milagros, meaning “miracles" in Spanish, are small religious folk charms found throughout Mexico. The Heart Milagro (also known as the Sacred Heart) represents love, healing and gratitude. The Milagros is often created, worn, nailed to a cross, or gifted to another as one is praying for a miracle. When a prayer is answered, an ex Voto is created as a testament of gratitude for the answered prayer. Elizabeth designed necklaces for each pendant creating a bridge between the artists in Mexico and the US, and the milagro and an ExVoto.
These milagros pendants were created by hand by two artists in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. The milagros are each unique and open to reveal a hidden locket. For Elizabeth, the combination of the milagros and the locket was an instant connection between these artists and ExVoto. She developed a fast friendship with the artists. That moment when you look at a stranger from another culture and realize, “you too?”

Textile Earrings
Jewelry artist, Marisol, utilizes ethnic textiles in her earring designs and searches for materials on trips throughout her homeland of Mexico. She enjoys meeting with people who tell her their life story while inviting her into their workshops and homes. Textiles hand-dyed and handwoven using traditional techniques ensure that each piece has a story! Marisol takes the textiles, and mixes them with leather and metal, to create one-of-a-kind earrings.
Elizabeth and Marisol collaborated closely to develop this group of earrings especially for ExVoto, keeping in mind the color palette the ExVoto client loves to wear in Spring and Summer seasons. These earrings are statement-makers, yet light and easy to wear!
