“If traveling in the spring, make sure to pack a light rain jacket for unexpected rain showers and a light sweater for cooler evenings. If you plan to visit places of worship, your shoulders and knees will need to be covered even in the summer. Dressing in layers is helpful with lightweight fabrics underneath. A stylish day bag is great for storing the extra layers as you shed them. Some of the major cities like Athens and Rome get extremely hot in the summer so breathable fabrics are key for staying comfortable. Expect to be on your feet and doing a lot of walking – not having comfortable walking shoes can ruin an otherwise magical day. Because most European cities have cobblestone streets, I suggest sticking to one roller bag unless you have door-to-door private transfers arranged throughout the trip.”
