This beloved American holiday classic comes to captivating life as a live 1940s radio broadcast. With the help of an ensemble that brings a few dozen characters to the stage, the story of idealistic George Bailey unfolds as he considers the impact of his life one fateful Christmas Eve. Kate Bergstrom will make her directorial debut leading a cast of five actors who will use sound effects, singing, and quick character changes to bring to life this iconic American story. This production is perfect for all ages.

Skating on the Riverfront

As part of Montgomery’s Home for the Holidays activity series, a new ice rink will bring skating to Montgomery’s Riverfront Park from Dec. 17-31!
Skating on the Riverfront is brought to Montgomery by Mayor Steven L. Reed, City Council President Charles Jinright, Council Pro Tem CC Calhoun and the Montgomery County Commission. The grand opening of the new ice skating rink is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 17, from 5-7 p.m. and will feature award-winning figure skater Jordan Stokes. Regular hours after Saturday’s grand opening are Sunday-Saturday 2-8 p.m.

Camellia Bowl at the Historic Cramton Bowl

The ninth annual Camellia Bowl (Georgia Southern vs University of Buffalo) will be played on Tuesday, Dec. 27 at 11 a.m. CT (noon ET) at the historic Cramton Bowl, which will celebrate its 100th birthday during the 2022 college football season.

For more than 150 years, the bold a cappella African American ensemble born on the campus of one of the nation’s premiere HBCUs has blended their rich voices together to share a heritage of suffering, strength, and endurance. Featuring uplifting spirituals and hymns including “Wade in the Water,” “Ain’t That Good News,” “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot” and “Nobody Knows the Trouble I’ve Seen,” this a cappella performance will ignite audiences of every generation.
