This past week, we had a company retreat in Memphis, Tenn. We got to check out a few great restaurants in Memphis, and also had the opportunity to visit and tour St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Here’s a brief recap of the trip!
We started the trip off with dinner at Hog & Hominy, a modern, Italian restaurant.
The arugula salad and pizza were absolutely delicious, not to mention this lemon pie.
We loved all the little details of the restaurant, including this bookcase door!
Because ExVoto owner/designer Elizabeth Adams lost her youngest child to brain cancer, a portion of all of ExVoto sales go to The Cure Starts Now Foundation for pediatric brain cancer research. The Cure Starts Now helps fund research at St. Jude’s.
St. Jude’s was founded by Danny Thomas, the son of Lebanese immigrants, who had a vision for a place that would help children with terminal illnesses, regardless of nationality, race or class.
Throughout St. Jude’s, they have patient’s artwork displayed, giving children an opportunity to express their feelings through art.
While we were at St. Jude’s we also got to deliver over 2,800 boxes of crayons that you helped us collect this past fall in our Crayons to Cure drive! You can read more about Crayons to Cure HERE.
